SBE Chapter 56 Meeting Minutes July 26, 2011

Chapter Chairman Bill Lee called the meeting to order and asked everyone to introduce themselves.
Approval of Meeting Minutes:
Approval of Minutes as posted on the Chapter 56 website was called for, motion was requested, motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Dale Vennes reported that the Chapter’s checking account balance as of July 26, 2011 was $4,550.00.
There were no transactions made.

Roger Herring reported that a meeting has been scheduled with Oklahoma Emergency Management for transmission of EAS through Satellite and Internet. The OAB has requested that all discount applications for new EAS equipment discounts be turned in as soon as possible. OAB also filed with the FCC for a delay extension. The EAM message test will be November 6, 2011 see the website for more info. Oklahoma CAP equipment has not been installed at this point.
- Ray Klotz reported that 1 test was proctored during the last examination period. The new Certified Broadcast Network Engineer (CBNE) test is still in development and hopes to be in Beta test soon. At this time it is not known when the CertPreview and the test will be released.
- The Network training session that has been discussed in Tulsa is not scheduled at this point. Further communication is occurring with National and local SBE members as well as OKC Chapter on exactly what the training needs to cover and if a special certification test can be scheduled at the end of the training. It was recommended that we look at the CNBT Certification instead of the CBNE test for the session.
- November 4 – 14, 2011 for local Chapters, Deadline is September 16, 2011.
- February 3 – 13, 2012 for local Chapters, Deadline is December 31, 2011.
