SBE Chapter 56 Meeting Minutes May 22, 2012

Chapter Chairman Roger Newton called the meeting to order and asked everyone to introduce themselves.

  • Approval of Meeting Minutes:

Approval of Minutes as posted on the Chapter 56 website was called for, motion was requested, and motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

  •  Treasurers Report:

Dale Vennes reported that the Chapter’s checking account balance as of May 21, 2012 was $4,508.54.   There were no credits or debits this month.  The checking account balance as of May21, 2012 is $4,508.54.

  • Secretary’s Report:

Nothing to Report.

  • Frequency Coordination above 1 GHz:

Nothing to Report

  • Frequency Coordination below 1 GHz:

Nothing to Report.

  • EAS Report:

Not Availible.

  • Certification Report:

Jim Hobbs reported the dates below for certifications.  At this time 3 members have signed up for certification.

August 3–13, 2012 for Local Chapters, Deadline is June 1, 2012.

November 2–12, 2012 for Local Chapters, Deadline is September 14, 2012.

  • Old Business:

The chapter is seeking a new location for its monthly meetings.  Chapter ViceChairman Jim Mertins volunteered to take on the challenge to search out a new location.  Any members with any suggestions should contact Jim.

  • New Business:

The chapter was contacted to see if we had any interest in hosting an 8VSB Seminar similar to the seminar just hosted in Dallas.   More information should be forthcoming pertaining to cost.

SBE is holding a National Strategic Planning Conference on Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Indianapolis, Indiana.   Chapter Chairman Roger Newton is attending and any suggestions or comments on how the organization can grow should contact him.

Question was asked as to the status of the CBNT training and certification seminar.   Jim Hobbs was going to investigate for more information.

Tim Diehl has a Omnicore Processor Demo if anyone is interested in test driving it.

  •  Program:    

Program and Lunch was provided by Dan Sessler with RF Specialties and Ellis Terry from Nautel.   The demonstrated the new cost effective FM Transmitters.
