SBE Chapter 56 Meeting Minutes of October 30, 2012

Chapter Chairman Roger Newton called the meeting to order and asked everyone to introduce themselves.
- Approval of Meeting Minutes:
Approval of Minutes as posted on the Chapter 56 website was called for, motion was requested, and motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
- Treasurers Report:
Dale Vennes reported that the Chapter’s checking account balance as of September 25, 2012, was $4,263.12. There have been no credits or debits since then. The checking account balance as of October 30, 2012, is $4,263.12.

- Frequency Coordination above 1 GHz:
Nothing new to Report
- Frequency Coordination below 1 GHz:

- EAS Report:

- Certification Report:

- Old Business:
Discussions about a community cleanup project at a park on the west side of the river around a memorial was tabled until later.
Hosting an 8VSB Seminar may be headed up by the OKC Chapter of SBE and might be in March.
- New Business:
The Chapter needs a new Certification Chairman. To proctor exams the Chairman needs to be a Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer.
Membership stands at 39 Chapter members registered with the National SBE organization.

Chapter Chairman Roger Newton asked for a motion to adjourn, motion was made, seconded, approved by voice vote.
- Program:
The program was presented by Chapter member Tim Diehl. Tim talked of the Fluke Thermal Imager TI-31 and showed many of its capabilities including showing transmission line hot spots and finger stock hot spots. The Imager showed fuses and circuit breakers that were in the early stages of failure. Tim also spoke of FM transmission and measuring its deviation. Tim had with him a Network Analyzer with single and dual ports.
